imperfect prose on thursdays: the day i should have died

Rachel Naomi Reimer wrote, “What a blessing it is to outlive your self-judgement and harvest your failures.”

I think it’s a blessing just to outlive something.

Because the nurses said I should have died.

Funny, I didn’t feel like I was dying. I didn’t really feel like I was living, either, though. I was more just dangling in the middle of space, filling a skinny void and thinking about my next meal because even though I didn’t let myself eat anything anymore, it filled me up just to dream...

please join me over here, at She Loves Magazine, today... but FIRST, link up your beautiful prose below! thank you...

AND: i want to thank you, friends, for loving me on this book-launch journey... apparently Chasing Silhouettes sold out on Amazon on its first day. (you can still order it there, and Amazon will ship it to you when it's re-stocked) it's God's grace. to him be the glory, forever and ever.

every wednesday and thursday, we gather together to celebrate redemption. here are the details:

1. link up a post (old or new) that you feel is 'broken' or 'imperfect' or somehow redemptive
2. put the 'imperfect prose' button at the bottom of your post, so others can find their way back here (see button code in right-hand column of my blog)
3. read other's prose, and encourage them!

won't you join us, here? in which we "walk each other home"? (ram dass)

  17. I so enjoyed watching the book trailor and then i watched an interview you did, I pray your book touches many and helps others that find themselves in similar situations. I will be getting one because I have a daughter and she is coming into an age where what you look like matters more than who you are. God bless your sweet heart!
